About the Opportunity
Currently, we are looking for Oil and Gas Plant Operators to join our offshore team, departing from San Pedro (near Long Beach), California.
As one of our Plant Operators, you will work approximately 9 miles offshore on a fixed oil platform, working a 14 days on/14 days off shift schedule, 12 hours a day, where you will be responsible for all production processing operations and assisting in the maintenance and craftwork of our offshore facility.
Your essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing knowledge of oil and gas dehydration, gas and water handling and treatment, vapour recovery, chemical treatment, filtration and injection, and emergency preparedness
- Operating equipment that includes, but is not limited to, heat exchangers, routine and backup power systems, emergency backup systems, pipeline pig, two and three-phase separators, and drain and sump
- Testing and resolving issues with wells
- Complying with industry standards of regulatory agencies and laws in regard to personnel, environment, and safety
- Providing daily readings for morning reports of H2S, water quality, well testing, and others as needed, and providing information for chemical usage
- Collaborating effectively with other crew members and performing additional tasks of other positions as instructed to ensure daily schedules are met
- Ensuring best practice(s) and tasks are communicated throughout the crew
- Participating in all safety-related meetings and safety training
- Conducting drills as requested
- Performing assigned safety and environmental checks as required
- Filling in positions as needed, where qualifications allow, for Ellen or Eureka Wellbay Operator, Control Room Operator, or other duties as requested
More About You
In order to qualify for these roles, you will join us with at least 3 years of experience in oil fields, ideally as an offshore Wellbay Operator or as a Plant Operator, with the ability to work offshore and outside in all weather conditions.
The ideal candidate must possess:
- Experience in the oil and gas industry
- GED, high school diploma, or equivalent
- Ability to travel to the pick-up location in San Pedro, near Long Beach, California
- Capacity to perform the aspects of this physically demanding job including holding body weight while swinging from a rope using hands and arms only, climbing steps and ladders, lifting/moving heavy tools and equipment
- Any safety-related or offshore training certificates would be considered an asset
- Proficient computer skills (eg. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Experience using SCADA, HMI, Avantis or other Preventative Maintenance system, PLCs, and pneumatics preferred

About the Benefits
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive hourly rate of $24-$42 based on skills and experience, with yearly earnings ranging from $69.6k-$121.8k accounting for generous overtime pay.
